Artech India believes in shared growth in a broader sense. The
Group is expanding its social horizon in India, since the country,
as a fast developing region, needs a lot of support in the education
field.
Unveiling of of Artech-Dalmia Centre for IT at Banasthali
Vidyapith by Smt. Vasundhara Raje Scindia
Smt. Vasundhara Raje, Chief Minister, Rajasthan, inaugurated "Artech
- Dalmia Center for Information Technology" at Banasthali Vidyapeeth
on January 9, 2008 in a gathering of more than 8000 people. The
proposal of this centre, to provide women an equal footing in the
arena of IT, came into limelight in March '06 and the foundation was
laid in July '06. The centre will impart degrees in IT field in
collaboration with Banasthali, to empower women with the knowledge
of cutting edge technologies.
Banasthali University, evolved with Panchmukhi Shiksha Programme,
has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council
(NAAC) with 'A' Grade (Five star Rating). The centre here is
equipped with the latest technological aids to impart better/faster
education, such as internally networked specialized computer
laboratories, communication lab, software engineering lab, VLSI
design lab and multimedia laboratory. Equipped with Gigabit LAN and
high bandwidth Internet connectivity, it offers video-conferencing
seminar room and hi-tech lecture rooms and library. Smt Scindia
said, "Such initiatives will further strengthen our commitment to
encourage IT education in women and create an environment which is
conductive for the growth".
Akshar Naveen in schools
One of our focus areas is the low computer literacy in India,
especially among the underprivileged section. The Group plans to
provide 1,000 copies of its path-breaking multilingual software
product, Akshar Naveen, to education institutes for the
underprivileged in the remote areas of Jharkhand, Orissa and Bihar.
The Artech Group is in discussions with the respective agencies to
empower our future generations in this area with Indian language
computing advantage.
