Ltd., has come up with Akshar Naveen on Linux (ANL), the
latest product in its Akshar series. ANL supports all the
features of Akshar Naveen on Windows and also comes equipped
with an inbuilt database and open document format (ODF)
support. |
Akshar Naveen on Linux comes loaded with features, such
as independent office suite including text editor,
spreadsheet, presentation, HTML editor, drawing and database.
It is compliant with ODF and Unicode formats. ANL incorporates
an enhanced dictionary, e-mail facility, different keyboard
settings, a number converter, an inbuilt PDF converter and
database support. It facilitates Indian language web
publishing as well.
ANL is now available on Red
Hat/Fedora and it can be ported to different flavours of
Linux. With the ability to create PDF directly from an Akshar
document, ANL also supports GUI in Hindi for specific
users.
Yogendra Tripathi, country head and senior VP,
Artech India, said, “ANL is the extension of our commitment to
make Indian language computing available across the board. It
is a result of our constant endeavour to spread ‘Apni Bhasha,
Apni Shaili’ computing convenience.”
On ANL's ODF
compliance, Tripathi said, “All documents generated in Akshar
Naveen can now be saved in ODF which will allow these
documents to be opened and edited in any application that is
ODF compliant.” |
