Artech to invest Rs one cr, sponsor IT centre at
Banasthali New Delhi: With an
eye on encouraging IT literacy among women, Artech India
is planning to invest Rs one crore towards sponsoring
the 'Artech Dalmia Centre for Information Technology' at
Banasthali Vidyapith in Rajasthan.
The facility
has been planned as a national IT education centre for
women and would also support other departments of the
Vidyapith, IT company Artech India chairman M H Dalmia
told reporters here today.
The Vidyapith would
offer Bachelors and Masters degree and MTech in IT at
the centre, Banasthali Vidyapith director Aditya Shastri
said.
The Artech-Dalmia centre would train girl
students in software, hardware and communication
technologies and also encourage research and development
in Information Technology.
The centre would be
equipped with internally networked specialised computer
labs, communication labs, software engineering lab, VLSI
design lab and multimedia lab, Shastri said.
It
would also have gigabit LAN and high bandwidth Internet
connectivity and video-conferencing-ready seminar room,
he said.
