The collaborative efforts of Artech India and Banasthali Vidyapeeth resulted in the establishment of "Artech - Dalmia Center for Information Technology" at Banasthali Vidyapeeth. The motive of these two women centric organizations, behind this step, was simply to provide women an equal footing in the arena of IT.

 

Banasthali Vidyapeeth, founded by Smt. Ratan Shastri and Pandit Hiralal Shastri in October 1935, is a unique, fully residential women's university which offers an integrated system extending from primary to Ph.D. level. Over these seventy three years the Banasthali University has developed into a National Center for women's education. Infact it is one of the five universities in India meant exclusively for Women. It has evolved Five-fold Educational Programme (Panchmukhi Shiksha) comprising of the following aspects : (i) Physical, (ii) Practical, (iii) Aesthetic, (iv) Moral and (v) Intellectual. Recently Banasthali University has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with 'A' Grade (Five star Rating).

 

Mr. M. H. Dalmia, CEO of OCL India Ltd & Chairman of the Artech Board and Mr. Ajay Poddar, Managing Director, Artech Infosystems gave the proposal for this center in 2006 and laid the foundation in July 2006. Finally, Artech and Banasthali, the two leaders (one in IT & one in education) came up with the Artech - Dalmia IT Center. Smt. vasundhara Raje Scindia, honorable Chief Minister, Rajasthan, inaugurated the center in the gathering of more than 8000 people on January 9, 2008. The center will impart Bachelor and Master degrees to women in IT, will help in computerizing several departments at Banasthali and will empower women with the cutting edge technologies. Women will be benefited with the educational programmes consisting training sessions on software and hardware technologies, new communication horizons, research & development programmes in IT, animation- designing programmes etc. Smt Scindia said, "Such initiatives will further strengthen our commitment to encourage IT education in women and create an environment which is conductive for the growth". She added that Jaipur is going to be the next IT hub for North India after Gurgaon vey soon. The centre is equipped with the latest technological aids to impart better/faster education, such as internally networked specialized computer laboratories, communication lab, software engineering lab, VLSI design lab and multimedia laboratory. Equipped with Gigabit LAN and high bandwidth Internet connectivity, it offers video-conferencing seminar room and hi-tech lecture rooms and library. Women class in rajasthan is now all set to attain teh peak in IT sector. According to Mr M H Dalmia, “The partnership between Artech and Banasthali will go a long way towards the achievement of these goals.”

 

The center is fully loaded to create an IT environment in Jaipur and will definitely be known for the best IT facilities & infrastructure in the country.

Banasthali Vidyapeeth, located in Jaipur, is a fully residential, prestigious women's university. Founded by  Smt.
